From that time, many modifications have been made which eventually made this game hugely popular as an indoor game. Su E recorded in his book that the daughter of Emperor Yizong of Tang, Princess Tongchang, played the “leaf game” with members of the Wei clan in 868.
The first recorded document of card game was found in the Collection of Miscellanea at Duyang by Su E who was a Tang dynasty writer.
